Where are the scrubs made?
The scrubs are made in a factory on the outskirts of a slum in Chennai, India. Currently, there are 15 women employed at this factory who also make men’s dress shirts. Learn more about our partners or visit the blog

What other products do you offer?
We offer basic scrubs and healthcare uniform accessories. You can view our current product line here. We are always looking for products to add to our line, please contact us if you have products you would like to see offered through Catalyst.

How much are the women paid to make the products?
Because we are partnering with independent cooperatives, we allow the business owner to determine the wages of his or her workers, as well as bonuses, incentives, and other added benefits, such as free lodging, childcare or schooling for the worker’s children (India), free medical care (Africa), and free business courses (Africa and Nepal). All sites also provide meals to their employees.  Catalyst compares the actual wages the women are being paid with the living wage standards in the area to assure that the women are paid fairly.

Is Catalyst a charity or non-profit organization?
No. Catalyst is a for-profit business, partnering with cooperatives around the world that are changing their communities by employing at-risk women. While charity is necessary and beneficial in an emergency, we believe that sustainable job creation is the best answer to fight poverty.
